So sorry I have been neglecting this blog. I’ve been really busy. But anyway, in today’s post I will be reviewing YouTube stars, Jc Caylen and Ricardo Ordieres.

Jc Caylen, 20, and Ricardo Ordieres, 20, are just normal boys from San Antonio, TX who are on YouTube, basically. Jc owns two YouTube channels, http://www.youtube.com/user/jccaylen and http://www.youtube.com/user/lifewithJc – he does a lot of video blogging, vlogs, and some music videos. He’s also on a third channel, our2ndlife – http://www.youtube.com/user/our2ndlife – where he and some other friends (Kian Lawley, Sam Pottorff, Ricky Dillon, Connor Franta, Trevor Moran, and Ricardo Ordieres) do challenges/dares. And Ricardo is a radio personality for San Antonio’s KROV, which you can download the tunein app for iPhone, Android, or Windows 8. Ricardo has his own YouTube channel – http://www.youtube.com/user/RicardoOrdieresTV – where he uploads interviews from his radio show. He is on other YouTube Channels. You can see him on our2ndlife every Saturday and every Friday on http://www.youtube.com/user/thesedudez and http://www.youtube.com/user/thesevlogz and you can catch him making appearances in Jc’s vlogs.

Make sure you subscribe to those channels that I have mentioned! Also, subscribe to Sam, Kian, Ricky, Trevor, and Connor as well!

Next post will be on the books that I have read in January and updates from moi. So, make sure you’re subscribed to my mailing list to get post updates. See you all sometime this week or next week. Love y’all! ❤

Happy New Year dolls ❤

I know I’m late, but I’ve been very busy with so much things. I need to buy myself a planner (Haha! Joke, get it??) – but this has been called to my attention and I want to talk about it.

I see it on my Facebook newsfeed and my Twitter timeline. It’s not that I’m sensitive, but it’s the fact that it’s rude and not cool. Some people (not name-dropping) use the words retardgayfaggot, and etc. Now, I’m not the type to use those words. You guys have got to stop using those words. It’s offensive to some people. For example: someone with autism is not the r-word, but people insist on calling them that word. They may not seem offended, but they are, deep down. Another example: a gay/lesbian/transgender person may not seem offended when you call them the f-word, but they are offended.

Now, you see why you shouldn’t use those words? They’re very offensive. They shouldn’t be used as insults. If someone insults you, ignore it. Be the bigger person and walk away. The one insulting you (or bullying you) is immature and needs to grow up.

What I’m trying to say here is grow up and be mature. Choose your words carefully. If you catch yourself using any of the words I have mentioned previously, try to replace them with something else. Or don’t say anything at all. As cheesy as it sounds, it’s true. If you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all.

Well, hope you guys take the time to read this carefully. I’ll see you all next time where I’ll be reviewing Jc Caylen and Ricardo Ordieres. Comment below and make sure you subscribe to my mailing list to get emails from me. That’s all for now dolls xoxo ❤

How To Keep a New Years’ Resolution

Tags

, , ,

Do you always make resolutions for the new year but find yourself not keeping up with them? Well, lucky for you, I’m here. I’m pretty good at keeping my New Years resolutions. Here are some tips on how to keep your New Years’ resolutions.

  • Make a mental note. Or if you’re bad at that, take post-its and write your resolutions on the post-its and post them around your house.
  • Set reminders on your phone. Most of my readers, I’m guaranteed, have iPhone’s. So, set up your reminders with your resolutions. Thank you to technology!
  • Have a mini journal? Write down your resolutions in that and carry it around with you, which is what I do.

If you have some tips on how to keep resolutions. feel free to leave them in the comments below. If you have any fashion/beauty/primp requests, email me at SamanthaAllTimeLow@gmail.com as well as if you want me to review certain albums/songs/videos etc., or if you just want me to talk about something serious. Don’t be afraid to email me. If you need advice, don’t be afraid to email it to me. Next post will be a surprise! See you all next year! Have a happy and safe new year!

Peace and Love ♥

Today, I’m going to talking all about hippie fashion. And not just fashion. I’ll be talking about music and shows from the 1960s/1970s. Let’s get started!

Now, the fashion back then was all pretty simple. From bell bottoms to bell-sleeved dresses. If you have parents who grew up during those times (I’m talking about parents who were teenagers back then), maybe they kept some of their clothes. And if not, try some thrift stores in your area. Sometimes stores like nastygal.com have some bell-sleeved dresses. If you’re a fashion designer like moi, you know what to do to some of your old clothes to make them look like what the hippies wore. Now, so many girls are wearing the floral headbands. I’ve had girls walk up to me asking where they can get one. A few sites sell them. Two sites, for example, are thatmadonnagirl.com and saboskirt.com – both sites are amazing and I highly recommend you check them out!

You must be asking, what kind of music should I listen to now that I’m wearing these hippie clothes? Back in those eras, people listened to the Grateful Dead, The Who, Janis Joplin, and similar bands/artists like that. But in those eras, they didn’t have iPod’s and iTunes like we do today. They had record players and LP’s, or vinyl records. You don’t necessarily need to buy a record player and vinyls. We have technology. Download them from iTunes, but if you want to buy a record player and vinyls, I would suggest going to amazon.com to look for record players. As for vinyls, urbanoutfitters.com sells them for a little under twenty bucks or so.

As for shows, those eras had shows like The Monkees, I Dream of Jeannie, and Gilligan’s Island. You can easily find these shows on Antenna TV, if you have that channel. Or you can rent the collection at your local library. Or you can just buy the collection if you feel like you might like it. Shows like the ones I have mentioned are perfect to watch on a rainy day. I, however, love watching these old shows anytime because they make me smile. I’m only 21-years-old, but I love my oldies. Call me old-fashioned, call me an old soul, but I love it.

Now, that you guys know the fashion, music, and television shows, what is your favorite television show? Favorite band/artist? Favorite trend? I love reading comments from my lovely readers. Next post will about about New Years’ Resolutions and how-to keep them. I’ve got to go because a I see a bagel and a drink calling my name. Happy Holidays! xoxo ❤

Ivy & Jane Fans

So, I am in the middle of getting the supplies to make the hair bows, Star of David necklaces, lanyards, and maybe some tank tops and crop tops. We’re also thinking of making some halos for a good cause. The money will go to Sandy Hook.  I’m pretty sure guys know what had happened this past weekend. We should get everything done by March or so. It’ll be a perfect Easter gift for friends or yourself. I will Instagram them once they’re ready. So be sure you’re following me on Instagram; I’m hausofsamantha. My friend, Pamela of fashionlovebypam, will be giving me ideas and doing profits. We can’t wait to get this started. 2013 is going to be a wicked and wild year for Ivy & Jane! We can’t wait!

This was just a short update. Next post will be coming soon. It’ll be on hippie fashion. Look for that. If you’re subscribed, you’ll be in the know. If you’re not, subscribe to get updates from me. Happy holidays! xoxo ❤

Now, you guys are probably wondering, what is autism? Well, autism is a complex disorder that affects the brain’s normal development of social and communication skills. Autism affects an estimated 1 out of 150 children in the United States. Although, the exact cause is unknown, most scientists believe that autism is caused by a combination of generic and environmental factors. Parents, doctors, and scientists believe that autism is triggered by childhood vaccines. How do I know if my child is autistic? Well, here the symptoms: inability to make eye contact, cuddle, and respond to when spoken to. Some may line up toys rather than play with them, flapping arms, twirling in circles, incessant humming, and walking on toes. Now, there is no medical test that can diagnose autism. A comprehensive evaluation typically includes clinical observations, parent interviews, reviews of development histories, psychological testing, and assessments of speech and language. There are two popular treatments for autism. Those treatments are applied behavior analysis or ABA and Floortime. There are some unconventional treatments, such as gluten- and casein-free diets and using chelation therapy to rid a child’s body of toxic substances. Now, I’ve researched this by reading two books about this topic and I’ve also checked websites, too. Scientists are aggressively pursuing research about this topic, and have found interesting findings about the brains of autistic people, as well as the role genetics and environment play in the development of autism.

Now, that I’ve told you guys about autism, you guys know that this disorder exists. It’s always existed. People just never really thought about it, though. Please comment below if you know anyone with autism or if you have autism. If you know anyone with autism, tell me what you do to help them out. And also please refrain from using the R-word.

Tune in next time for a musical post xoxo

Yes, my book reviews are called Glamviews. Sounds glamorous! So, in this post I’m going to be reviewing two books that I have read recently. Sorry if I said I’ll review four. I will, however, make it up to you guys with something else. Let’s get started, shall we?

  • First book is called Rhymes with Witches by Lauren Myracle. Now, you may recognize the author because she wrote ttylttfn, and l8r g8r. But this book was really good. It’s a perfect Halloween read. Or if you’re into all that stuff about witches, vampires, and zombies like me. I would give this book four stars just because it doesn’t look like it’s meant for my age group, but I loved the whole witch theme.
  • Next book up is Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher. This book is definitely a popular one among the teenagers. It’s about a girl named Hannah who committed suicide and she sent out cassette tapes to those who were mentioned. One important person is Clay Jensen. I thought this book was amazing! It’s not just for teenagers. It’s for everyone. I enjoyed it! I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re not into depressing books about suicide, but you know, it’s not all that depressing. I give this book five stars for being amazing! Great job, Jay!

So, my birthday is coming up this Sunday. I will be 21! Finally, I know!! Anyway, look out for the next post where I will be talking about autism. The next post should be something you should all tune into. I hope you all loved this post. I really recommend that most of you read the second book that I’ve reviewed! Remember, if you have any other requests for a certain book/song/album/movie or something you want me to talk about, don’t hesitate to email me at SamanthaAllTimeLow@gmail.com. You can even send me advice or any requests for beauty/fashion/primp tips you want me to cover. Have wonderful weekend everyone! And don’t forget to donate $10 by texting REDCROSS to 90999!

So, I’m so glad you guys enjoyed that last post! Makes me smile. In this post, I will be reviewing One Direction’s song, Little Things.

Little Things by One Direction. This song is a little sad, but it’s definitely worth listening to. It’s beautiful! It’s definitely that song you would listen to when you’re feeling down, you know? It made me smile when I first heard it. Their fans are called Directioners, and I know that they’re so proud of their boys for coming this far. I hear the music video is coming out on November 2nd! I bet you guys are all excited for that!! But anyway, this song is definitely worth taking a listen to. I give it five stars.

So, in the next post, I will reviewing four books that I’ve read recently. And the post after that, I will be talking about autism. You can email me anytime at SamanthaAllTimeLow@gmail.com if you want me to review a certain book/album/song or talk about something serious or if you have any beauty/fashion/primp requests you want me to cover or if you have any advice. My 21st birthday is coming up in five days and I’m really excited about that! Catch me at the Twilight: Breaking Dawn 2 Premiere really soon. Until then, love ya xoxo

Paris.
Alright so it’s Autumn and I’m going to give you some tips on what to wear, how to fix your hair, and how to do your make-up.

First off, let’s start with some fashion tips for Fall. Now, above you’ll see a set I’ve made with polyvore. I’m loving hi low skirts with a classy, floral tank top. It may look summery, but I think it looks great for Autumn. Definitely something to wear to your job. If you pair it with a nice cardigan, it’ll look perfect! Wearing shoes similar to to Jeffrey Campbell make it look really classy and fall-like. Wear a nice necklace. Not too bold, but not too tiny so people can’t see. Wear a pearl bracelet like in the set. And for your bag, it doesn’t have to be a Birkin, but it could be similar to it. There. Your outfit it set for Autumn!

As for the hair, you want it to be nice and wavy to show of your summery look. You can put it up in a nice and neat ponytail, which is always classy. Buns are really in this fall. Now, pixie cuts, to me, aren’t really Autumn-like. It, to me, more of a summery style. During Autumn, I like to let my hair get super long until the Summer months where it’ll be time to cut it and keep me cool. That’s just my opinion. You can, however, cut it if you please.

As for the make-up, keep it light and less, which it should always be like. Dab on some blush and some lip gloss. Maybe some earth tones for Autumn. Go with earth tones definitely because that’s a fall favorite and every girl seems to love those tones for Autumn.

Well, that’s it for those tips! Hope you all enjoyed it! I have some big news!! I am apparently going to be making an appearance in a Taylor Swift music video. I have a lot of movie premieres to go to. I’m going to Paris really soon. A lot of great stuff in store for me. You can keep in touch with me here, or on my Facebook, where I’ll say a quick hello. You can email me at SamanthaAllTimeLow@gmail.com if you have any fashion, beauty, and/or primp requests you want me to cover. You can find me on Instagram as hausofsamantha. You can also find me on Ask.fm as SamanthaLuciano and you can ask me anything but personal questions. Any personal questions will be deleted. Well, I’ve got to go. Kiss kiss xoxo
